So I've been looking around at some recovery sites,
& found one that hasn't been updated in a while but had some good ideas about positive thinking.
in the last update she says how well she's been doing,
it really brightened up my day.

& found one which was a bit shocking.
I hate some doctors tbh.

& this is the homepage if you want a better look around

I wonder if that site has been abandoned. The last update was 2004 and in it she said she was going to upload her diary or journal, and it's not there.

I really like the doctor quotes. I wonder if we could copy them onto a page of our own with text at the bottom like this:

"Some of the above quotes were originally found on the site http://www.angelfire.com/ego/already_perfect/, which appears to be abandoned. Please contact us if there is any problem with their reproduction herein."

We could also generate our own responses with a poll for the members asking what is the stupidest thing a doctor has ever said to them regarding their ED.

Let me know if you would like to do either of these things.

PS now: I found this page: http://www.somethingfishy.org/doctors/theysaidwhat.php - it looks like some of the quotes on one of the pages could have been already stolen from the other and merely modified.
=======

http://www.somethingfishy.org/news/news.php - this is a page with links to abstracts from medical studies. They quit updating them in 2006 it looks like (they have let this site go downhill), but we might pick up where they left off. We already have the anorexic news and the teen anorexic news on the proanorexia and pa_juniors sites, but this goes further.

=========

http://www.somethingfishy.org/news/polls.php - polls from the same site

=======

http://www.somethingfishy.org/memorial/memorial.php - A year or two ago this was excellent. Now it is nothing more than a memorial.

What made it good was when they required putting in the details of the deaths - how they happened, and how that was due to the eating disorders. People could read many of them and learn how the disorders kill, and learn how to prevent some of that stuff.

When you only read that someone misses them, the learning experience is gone.

Let's figure out how we can get that information.

===========

We might want to do a questionnaire:

http://www.somethingfishy.org/isf/questionnaire.php

===========

In the somethingfishy website, the section under the menu choice of "Recovery: Reach Out" has things we might want to emulate.

===========

Here are many links they have - we might want to use some of those ideas too.

I like the idea about members posting about their own experiences with horrible doctors,
there can't be a girl or boy on here that hasn't had an insensitive experience.

That website seems really good, I'll have a look around.
A questionnaire would be good, would we loosely base it on the one from the somethingfishy site or start from scratch with our own ideas?

We could ask around the community members for friends or family that have died and create a memorial.
Do you know any of the girls that posted here that died?
hope you're okay x

We're getting response about the stupid doctor sayings. We can blend ours with the ones from the other pages for now, and go more with ours as the responses continue there.
